We are members of the North American Baptist Conference headquartered in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
NAB History
The North American Baptist Conference was begun by immigrants from Germany. The first church was organized by Rev. Konrad Fleischmann in Philadelphia in 1843. In 1865, delegates of the churches met in Wilmot, ON, and organized the Morth American Baptist Conference. Many languages are represented in our churches.
The Conference meets in general session once every three years for fellowship, inspiration and to conduct the business of the Conference through elected delegates from local churches. The General Council, composed of representatives of the various Associateions and Conference organizations and departments, meets annually to determine the annual budget and programs for the Conference and its departments and agencies. The General Council also makes recommendations to the Triennial Conference on policies, long-range plans and election of certain personnel, boards and committees.
Approximately 38 missionaries serve in Brazil, Cameroon, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Phillippines and Russia.
Seven homes of the aged are affiliated with the Conference and 11 camps are operated on the association level.
