Cascade Park Baptist Church is searching for a qualified candidate to fill our senior pastor position. Cascade Park Baptist Church is a member of the North American Baptist (NAB) Conference, and is a congregation of 350 people. We exist to make a difference by loving God, loving others, and multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ.
Cascade Park Baptist Church was formed in 1981 through home Bible studies. Ministry opportunities and programs have grown steadily since then. We currently have a strong Awana program, multiple Adult Bible Fellowships (ABFs), small groups, and various outreaches aimed at the spiritual and real physical needs of East Vancouver. Approximately half of attending households have children involved in children's and or youth ministry.
Cascade Park Baptist Church is located in Vancouver, WA. With a population of 160,000 people, Vancouver is the fourth largest city in the state of Washington. Vancouver and Portland, Oregon lie along the Columbia River, and form a larger metropolitan area. Approximately 75% of the people in Clark County do not attend a church on a regular basis. This is one of the highest rates in the country.
Responsibilities
The senior pastor is the primary overseer of the congregation and staff. He will provide vision and leadership for the mission of the church, and in partnership with the staff and lay leaders, will execute the ministry at Cascade Park Baptist Church. He will do this by preaching from a Biblical basis, shepherding the congregation, and providing initial counsel for those in spiritual need. He will also provide leadership and oversight of lay leaders and church staff, pray for the church, and conduct ordinances. Qualifications
- Exhibit the characteristics as defined in Timothy & Titus
- Hold an MDiv or ThM from an accredited Evangelical Seminary.
- Five or more years of pastoral ministry experience.
- Must agree with the NAB statement of beliefs.
- Must be ordained from an evangelical church.
